Background
CPAT is used as an introductory physical exam for a large number of fire departments throughout the country. For many departments, a candidate must receive a certificate prior to the application process and from an agency or department different from the one they are applying to. The test is a comprehensive assessment of a candidates’ readiness to enter the fire service.
Cost and program
The Denver Fire Department offers a mentoring program, [access to a mentor up to the final test], 2 practice tests, the final test and certification (valid for one year from time of payment) This cost will be $150.00 for the course or $110.00, if the individual is interested in obtaining the certificate only. The course will focus on not only the finished product, the CPAT certificate, but also building a foundation that will enable a successful career in the fire service. A discounted rate will be available to an organization or department interested in testing a large group.
