The Denver Fire Department’s Operations Chief is responsible for leading and coordinating all frontline emergency response functions across the city. This role oversees the Shift Commanders and Districts 2–7, ensuring consistent leadership, staffing, and operational readiness 24/7. The Operations Chief also directs key support divisions, including EMS, EMS Education, Special Operations, Wildland, Colorado Task Force/FEMA coordination, and HazMat Cost Recovery. By managing these critical components of the department, the Operations Chief ensures efficient daily operations, effective incident response, and seamless integration of specialized teams, all while supporting the safety and performance of the department’s members and the community they serve.
