Division 5
The Airport Division of the Denver Fire Department provides multiple emergency and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) capabilities that are essential to the safe, compliant, and operational efficiency of Denver International Airport. As the department’s specialized aviation emergency response function, ARFF safeguards stakeholders, personnel, critical infrastructure, and the traveling public through disciplined readiness and rapid response.
In addition to ARFF functions, the Airport Division maintains continuous operational preparedness to respond to structural apparatus responses to include fire suppression, rescue operations, medical emergencies, fuel-related hazards, and hazardous materials incidents while meeting federally mandated standards. Beyond incident response, the Airport Division supports the airport’s broader framework through records compliance, interagency coordination, training, regulatory alignment, and operational continuity.
The Airport Division continuously contributes to the goals of and vision of Denver International Airport as well as the Denver Fire Department and reinforces stakeholder confidence by ensuring a coordinated, high-reliability response capability that protects life, preserves infrastructure, and supports continuity of airport operations.
