Basic Leave Entitlement
FMLA requires covered employers to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees which include:

      • Incapacity due to pregnancy, prenatal medical care or child birth
      • Care for the employee’s child after birth, or placement for adoption or foster care
      • Care for the employee’s spouse, son, daughter or parent, who has a serious health condition
      • A serious health condition (intermittent/continuous) that makes the employee unable to perform the employee’s job

Please contact Safety HR at least  30 days in advance to apply for FMLA unless it is an emergency situation. Phone number is 720-913-6764, (email: Safetyhrdenvergov.org) They will send the paperwork to you via email, U.S mail, Department mail, or fax.

Once the paperwork is completed and returned and approved the member can contact Admin. and use vacation days, sick leave or LWOP for FMLA. Any questions concerning FMLA please contact Captain Jeffry Fletcher (720-913-3451).
