About the Denver Fire Department Foundation: Our mission is to support Denver Fire Department by providing resources and support (primarily grant writing) to improve firefighter safety and wellness, thereby enhancing public safety in the City and County of Denver. Recent successes:

  • Health & Wellness: secured grant for firefighter-specific training and wellness workstations at each station that are geared to improve health and decrease injury
  • Public Education: secured funding through the City to support a Career Exploration Camp for middle and high school kids where they will had a hands-on experience of the work of firefighter.
  • Gear & Equipment: purchased 526 helmets for Denver Firefighters that replaced helmets that were 10 years and older, and the new helmets provided for more efficient and effective decontamination.
