Hal Bruno Camp for Children of Fallen Firefighters

Sent on behalf of the Safety and Training Division:

Please see information below and flier attached regarding volunteer opportunities for the “Comfort Zone Camp,” with training May 6th and the program July 21st – 23rd at Glacier View Ranch in Ward, CO.

Subject: NFFF/CZC Hal Bruno Camp for Children of Fallen Firefighters

I’m reaching out to you today because the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is honored to partner with Comfort Zone Camp to provide the 6th annual Hal Bruno Camp for Children of Fallen Firefighters.  This camp is a free 3-day bereavement camp program which will be held in Ward, CO on July 21st-23rd for children and teens who have experienced the loss of a firefighter parent who has died in the line of duty and been honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD. This program serves youth ages 7-17 and offers a Parent/Guardian program.

We have a need for male and female mentors, medical professionals, grief therapists, group support, and camp support. Volunteer opportunities start at age 15. This program will need over 90 volunteers just in camp. We will also be looking for folks to help meet families at the Denver airport and shuttle them to a yet to be determined hotel in the Boulder area.  It is my hope that you can share this information with your local contacts.

Interested in supporting a family who is grieving? Interested in becoming a volunteer? Come to the next training:
